Vision
The
TLW vision can be summarised as:
"Helping young people experience real love"
This statement defines what the TLW team is here for. This is
what we're called to contribute to the world. All our actions should
be directed towards achieving this.
Our vision is for young people to experience real love in their
lives. We want young people to discover the true meaning of human
love and sexuality. We also want them to discover the peace, joy and
happiness that come from living a chaste life. When they have this
understanding and have embraced chastity in their lives, we know
they are then on the way to experiencing real love.
All of us have a deep desire to love and be loved. As our loving
Father, God created us this way to enjoy human love and happiness.
He wants us to experience real love, as He knows it will bring us
happiness. Our vision is to lead young people to discover the love
and happiness God wants them to have - the love and happiness we
know their hearts are longing for.
Helping young people experience real love means helping them
distinguish between real love and selfish love. We understand that
it is sometimes difficult, especially in today's society, to
understand what the word 'love' really means. Our vision is to help
young people realise that real love is about wanting what is best
for another person. It's not about wanting someone to satisfy our
own selfish desires. It is about appreciating the dignity in another
person and wanting only what is in their best interests.
We also want young people to realise that chastity is the only
way to live life to experience the fullness of real love. Chastity
purifies our minds and our hearts so that we desire only what is
right and good for others and for ourselves. It is about saving the
gift of the sexual union for marriage and living our life in a way
that respects our sexuality. It also teaches us to see the dignity
of ourselves and of others. Our vision is for young people to
appreciate the beauty of chastity and to discover the peace, joy and
happiness it brings to their relationships and to their lives.
In striving towards our vision we're also responding to
Archbishop Hickey and Pope John Paul II's call for a new
evangilisation. As Christ gave His life to save us from our sins,
God reveals just how deep His love is and shows us the meaning of
real love. Our vision therefore is not only to help others
understand what love is, but to help them discover the source of
real love - our Lord Jesus Christ. By leading young people to
discover the fullness of love and the true meaning of sexuality,
we're also leading them to a deeper relationship with God.
