Living your life while striving for real love can be difficult. Often culture isn’t very supportive of people who choose to strive for true love and want to save sex for their future spouse in marriage.

Sometimes when colleagues, friends and even family don’t understand your values or choices, it’s easy to feel very isolated. Yet this doesn’t have to be the case. There are many people who strive for chastity. In True Love Waits, we aim to bring together these people who strive for chastity. Through regular events, we support each other and enjoy genuine friendships with people who are accepting and appreciative of you for who you are, not for who you feel you need to pretend to be.

The person who strives for real love encounters many challenges. To help us to find answers and to understand our gift of sexuality, True Love Waits holds forums open to the public on a variety of relevant topics. These free forums, called "Open Sessions" provide people with understanding and practical advice on many aspects of chastity, applicable to their everyday lives.

True Love Waits has discovered many excellent resources from some of the best authors and speakers in this area that you will find. Select a type of media from the menu to view some of our favourites. Email us for info about how you could purchase some of these life-changing esources. True Love Waits is also piloting a free lending library service. Drop us an email to get more information.

Upcoming Open Session

The next Open Session will be on Monday 28h of June 2010:

Understanding the Opposite Sex

7:30-9:30pm at Catholic Pastoral Centre, 40A Mary St, Highgate
(school parking lot off Harold St)

Are you ever bemused by the other gender? Have you ever wondered how can we possibly become “one flesh” when we are so different? The man vs woman debate is a battle of the sexes that has been raging for centuries. Are our differences just physical? Or are they mental, emotional, social, and spiritual too? Did God intend for us to be this way or is it a product of our culture?

In this open session we’ll be viewing a talk that reveals some surprising truths about human physiology and neurology that probably influence us more than we thought! The speaker, Dr Philip Mango is a captivating and funny speaker (check him out on YouTube) who has devoted his life to scientific study of people - in light of Catholic teachings.
